I looked at Jim Collins Discipline buildup backwards and questioned. If you want disciplined action you need disciplined thought, if you want discipline thought you need disciplined people. Makes sense to me. If we go back to getting “the Right people on the bus”, if the right people are disciplined people this should be easy. Many managers I worked with said the quality they liked most in their employees is the fact they have employees that do not need to be managed. “They hired self-disciplined people who didn’t need to be managed, and then managed the system, not the people.” P.125
