The Next Book we are going to review together is The Energy Bus. It is a little corny but very uplifting and appropriate for the holiday season. This isn’t George Bailey, but it could be.
It’s a story about a guy named George whose car breaks down and he has to take the bus to work for two weeks while his car gets fixed. During his two week ride on the bus, the bus driver, Joy, and rest of the passengers give George a pep talk every day. I told you it was corny.
It’s contains a good moral to the story so let’s take the bus ride.
It is an easy read only 157 pages and 33 Chapters.
Chapter 1 to 8
Chapter 1 to 3 talks about what a mess George’s life is at work and at home. It also talks about how unhappy George is with the way things are going.
Chapter 4 to 7
The bus driver, Joy, sets George up to learn “The 10 Rules for the Ride of Your Life.”
Chapter 7 Rule #1 You’re the Driver
This is similar to the concept that you are in control of your life. You can’t control what others say and do but you can control what you do. There is also a little homework in this chapter too.
Chapter 8 It’s All About Energy
Here in lies the title of the book The Energy Bus
We live in an energy world not a physical world. Joy tells him, “… thoughts are energy.” This reminds me of the book ‘I’m Okay, You’re Okay.” It is what we tell ourselves. There are many self-help books on this topic. The voice inside us encourages or discourages us.
